Head to one of Alicante’s many beaches to sunbathe or, for the active, why not try kite land-boarding or maybe dinghy sailing. Take an unusual city tour on a Segway, a two-wheeled scooter that you stand up on and ride along the pavement. Learn about the history of bull-fighting in the Plaza de Toros Museum. Get close to the wildlife at the Vergel Safari Park near Alicante with its lions, tigers, leopards and zebras. Explore the Caves of Canalobre, one of Spain's most impressive caves, which are about 24 kilometres outside the city. No trip to Alicante would be complete without a shopping trip to the El Corte Ingles department store or to the market on the tree-lined promenade behind the port. Alicante is well-known for having one of the most vibrant nightlife’s in Spain.
