Island capital Gaios is home to a good choice of restaurants serving up everything from freshly caught fish to Italian dishes. Elsewhere, the island is dotted with an array of traditional Greek tavernas serving up local specialities such as moussaka, hummus and stifado (not forgetting ouzo.) All these are best eaten al fresco, so it's a good thing most of the venues come with terraces.
