Fearless members of our team competed a 19.5 mile walk along the coastline between Lyme Regis and Sidmouth in aid of the Monday Memory Club.
The club is a session, which takes place at the Henhayes Community Centre every week specifically for those suffering memory loss or dementia.
Due to bad weather conditions the distance took longer than expected - 8h 33m. They raised a total of £204.06, which was officially presented to people who attend the session.
Neus, one of our travel consultants, who took part in the walk, said: "Personally, I really enjoy doing things outdoors and I love coastal walks. We thought about taking part in something less challenging, but then decided that doing something different would be more noticed and appreciated. We thought people would be happier to donate if they saw that we were doing something hard and challenging."
The funds were raised through a competition for people to guess how long the walk would take, a month prior to the challenge. A cheese hamper from Number 5 the Deli, a Hays Travel voucher and a bottle of wine were presented to those who guessed the nearest to the 8 hours and 33 minutes it took our team members to do the trek.
