Rae Torr - My Fam Trip!
Rae works as as a Travel Consultant in our branch in New Milton and she was lucky enough to be selected to go on an educational to Egypt! This is her experience...
I applied to go on an educational fam trip to Egypt on 'The Hub' - an online community for us here at Hays Travel. I was over the moon when I received confirmation that I was selected!
The hotel that we stayed in was the brilliant Sunwing Makadi. It was perfect for families with children or teenagers. It has a waterpark on site with 5-6 slides, lazy river and a childrens splashpark area. The food at the restaurants had plenty of choice and was really good. The Hotel was part of a complex so three other hotels were attached- Perfectly safe and nice to walk around the whole area. The beach has plenty of sun beds and crystal clear water, there is an area where you can go snorkelling off of the promenade. A great bar for entertainment was the Jokers bar and the Africa bar, where you can enjoy live acts and music! There are quad bikes you can go out on as part of a group (extra costs) into the desert as well. The best trip available in the area is where you can go out on a boat trip, go snorkelling and see the coral reefs with lunch on board and after snorkelling you go over to orange bay for a few hours which is stunning and an absolute highlight of the area
The weather while we were there was averaging around 28 degrees which was lovely with a breeze that meant you didn't feel too hot. The evenings were cooler but with a cardigan or a light jacket it was fine. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the local areas, In El Gouda which is a upmarket area with a marina there is a lovely bar called mood. The boat trip with snorkelling and a few hours on orange island is worth the money on its own as it really is a highlight of the trip
I would recommend the orange bay boat trip with snorkelling excursion the Che Guevara bar and the mood bar were both really good atmosphere really fun, also good value for money!
I'm so grateful to have had the experience to go thanks to Hays Travel!
