Homeworking Story - Denise Armour

Luan Thornhill

I love being a Homeworker because I have so much more flexibility with my working hours. It fits in with my husband's shifts and also my daughters hobby (freestyle dancing), in which she competes all over the country. I love the freedom it gives, when I need holidays or days off I can fit them in around my work. In a store it is hard trying to get school holidays, now I don't need to worry about that.

Hays Travel gives you so much support during the application stage, right through to being your own boss and setting up at home, there is always someone on hand for advice whether it be sales or IT related. You are never on your own. Also the support you receive from other homeworkers is amazing, they are all so friendly and understanding and always available to help with any queries you have no matter how stupid you think the question is.

Earlier this year I travelled to Portugal for my first conference with Hays Travel and couldn't wait to meet everyone and thank them for welcoming me to the Hays family. I also travelled to China in June through Hays Travel which I was so excited about as I have never had a chance like this in the 19 years I have been in travel. John Hays also puts on a Garden Party at his home for all Hays staff and also an amazing Christmas Ball which last year was in a country house hotel near Sunderland.

When you have worked for the same company for 19 years you do worry that you have made the right decision or not, but I can honestly say my only regret is that I never done it earlier. Everyone that I have come into contact with through Hays Travel have been so helpful and cheery which goes to show why they have been voted one of the top 100 companies to work for. I would definitely recommend homeworking I have fell back in love with my job again which not a lot of people can say that.
