Alexandra Turner Davis - My Award Winning Year!
Since starting with Hays Travel I've improved in so many ways with my confidence, product knowledge and customer service. I work with an amazing team and I've had amazing support from the training department whilst completing my Apprenticeship NVQ!.
I have met so many people whilst working for Hays Travel and I've made friends for life.
I am an Apprentice Ambassador for Hays Travel and I've achieved so many goals in the years that I've worked here, I've been nominated for: The North East Employee of the Year 2018, nominated for Leisure Agent of the year 2018 at the Travel Weekly TTG Awards, while also being nominated and Won North East Apprentice of the Year
I was also shortlisted for the National Apprentice of the Year 2018 in London and at the most recent Hays Travel Christmas Party I won Hays Travel Highly Commended Apprentice of the year for 2018
Alex also recently won the Penny Akam Unsung Hero Award 2019 at the Travel Globe Awards
The Penny Akam Unsung Hero Award recognises unsung heroes in the travel industry, and is presented to an individual who characterises special qualities.
Alex has faced her own battle with cancer, being diagnosed with progressive throat cancer in 2014 aged 14, when she was given three months to live. Alex beat the odds and in January 2015, after receiving an adult dose of chemo-radiation five days a week over six weeks, she was given the all-clear. Alex raised more than £50,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust during her treatment and went on to set up her own charity foundation, Alex’s Angels, to help families of children with the disease.
I urge people to apply for an apprenticeship because along side learning on the job you're getting to experience working life and getting paid whilst doing so!
