Allowed cleaners to smoke in the hotel. Could do with updating the rooms.

This Hotel is awful, quests should be told in advance to booking that there is a high probability that there will be up to 200 exchange young students there, who at times run amock, the only entertainment was on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which was purely for the locals, the so called acts played the same music each night for the locals so they could do their type of dancing, (line dancing, waltz, cha cha etc ) so if the quests could get a seat in the entertainment lounge they could not have a dance as the locals filled the small dance floor. our room was extremely small, not enough space for storage of clothes, bathroom very very small, no bath only a very small shower, whilst in the shower the curtain would wrap it's self around you, no shelve in shower to put shampoo etc, i was juggling with shampoo and conditioner in the shower and dropped shampoo bottle it hit me on the foot and cut my foot, i asked at reception if they had a plaster and i was told that the first aid box was empty.... balcony had large deep cracks on both sides and next door balcony has deep cracks on lintel over patio doors,, FOOD,, breakfast was awful, bacon was inedible, poached eggs like tennis balls, beans all gluppy, very little choice even on the continental breakfast, lunch and dinner not much better, pork in some form was served every day, chips looked and tasted as though they had been reheated from previous day, pasta sauce again looked and tasted as though it was just added to each day, ice cream could only be had if you asked for it, not everyone knew you had to ask as no notice up saying so, we were on an all inclusive package, and we ended up spending a lot of money eating out, pushchair, and wheelchair access none not available after 9pm ( so mums with small children and people with a mobility problems beware) Reception staff needs to go on a customer service course, dinning room staff very good, considering that they had to work 17hr shifts, disgraceful, Pizza parlour attached to the hotel was only open on a Saturday night when the locals came, and was not part of the all inclusive package. Asked our rep at our welcome meeting where the indoor pool was, was told that the hotel did not have one......... we later found it at the basement level...
Love Malta and the Maltese people, we go quite regular, but our experience at this hotel really spoilt it for us this year.
In our opinion our room was hastely made into a double room ( only one chair on balcony and only a few inches between end of bed and fridge ) perhaps due to the large number of children ( almost 200 ) taking up the room.
We will never return to this hotel.

Good hotel and staff, also good food

Mrs Conaghan, 30 November 2017

Our room was nice, it was cleaned every day, fresh towels given. The staff were pleasant. Enjoyed the food , good variety to choose from, we really enjoyed our holiday, thank you. The Rep for Mercury holidays was very helpful, and pleasant.

Mr Grey, 16 October 2017

This is certainly not a 4star hotel - 3 star at best. Rooms are clean, but tired. Reception staff surly. The food however was good and varied. Pool is in permanent shade and is really just a plunge pool from the heat. Value for money I reckon as I cannot complain about the cost, but being labelled 4 star was a misnomer.

Miss Mellor, 21 August 2017

We were very disappointed with the accommodation which advertised itself as a 4 star hotel. The hotel was definitely not a four star. The reception staff, particularly one male receptionist (possibly the manager), was very unfriendly and rude. When we arrived we were told that check in was at 2.00, which we were aware of, but were not offered any advice on what we could do for the 3 hours, offered any food or even told where any of the facilities were we were just told "check in is at 2". I asked if we could have any food and reluctantly he gave us our all inclusive wrist bands and we found our own way to the lounge bar. The room was below standard and not particularly clean, we found a lot of crumbs in one of the dressing table drawers. The food was, at best average, and very similar every day. On the second day of our stay the cleaner cleaned our room and took our towels but did not replace them, on asking at the main reception I was told (by the same receptionist) "we don't have towels come back tomorrow" meaning we had to use our own beach towels for a shower which made them wet and unusable for the day. If I had booked a 2 or even possibly a 3 star hotel it may have been excusable to have these issues but when booking a four star I expect a higher quality of accommodation. We actually ended up eating out on 2 evenings of our 3 night stay even though we were all inclusive which meant we paid for something we hadn't expected. I spoke to another couple that were also staying in a four star hotel further down the road and they had 6 restaurants to choose from, one being a la carte, they had an infinity pool as well as two further pools, the accommodation was clean and staff extremely friendly which is more what I expect from a 4 star hotel. Malta is a lovely place but I was extremely disappointed with the holiday due to the accommodation.

Mr Forty, 05 June 2017

nice friendleystaff good value for money only disappointment was Breakfast very basic and same choices every day

Mr Wright, 03 April 2017

Fine, everything ok and staff friendly, good room service. They should do something about Pigeons on balcony though, with the noise and mess left. But that is a minor complaint to the hotel.

Mrs Shepheard, 20 March 2017

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in!!

Mr Wilson, 20 February 2017

it said tea making facities in broucher but not in room you could hire them for 3.50 euros per day whitch I thought expensive

Mrs Harding, 19 October 2016

We where never told there was building work going on next to our hotel. The work started at 7 and didn't stop till after 5. The noise was horrendous even if you complained the staff was not bothered. Would never go back. Not friendly at all. When you go on holiday you expect a little noise nothing like what we got. The impression I got we have your money if you where not satisfied go somewhere else. Really feel let down.

Mrs Jones, 09 May 2016

Very tired looking and a bit scruffy

Mrs Harvey, 16 November 2015

The food was of a poor standard. We have been to this before so know what we are talking about .The rooms were not very clean but the beds were clean. We won't be going back there .

Mrs Rees, 10 June 2015

The staff were helpful and friendly, but the hotel could do with some work especially the bath rooms. The menu was reasonable for the price paid.

Mrs Berry, 09 June 2015

Grey sheets and towels dirty bedspread complained and received another in the same condition gave up and just lived with it. Last day of holiday sat on the plastic balcony chair which we`d used on occassion all week and it collapsed. I hit the tiled floor and hurt my back - reported to reception and replied ok weren`t interested !!

Mrs Ransome, 30 October 2014
