There is plenty to text home about at the 4 star Blue Bay Lanzarote Hotel in Costa Teguise. Firstly, there is the setting. The hotel is set amidst lush green gardens, just 300 metres from the sandy beach. Secondly, there is the pool scene. The lagoon style pool takes centre stage and comes complete with abundant sunbeds and sunbathing space. Summertime brings chill out parties and al fresco barbecues poolside too. Was very tired looking. Cracked and peeled paint. Concrete had fell off some of the walk ways. No facilites to get changed on our return day. Sauna showers not working which i knew about but they should have had a room to use or be allowed to keep one of our 3 rooms on. When we asked they were rude to my son in law. Outside around the pool needed more cleaning doing furing the day. Bins needed emptying more. Not enough sun beds!! There policy of not reserving was not adheared to. People were out before 6 in the morning and stayed with there beds so they did not lose them. If you wanted sunbeds you had to do this also. With a party of 10 i had no choice but to go down every morning and sit there until 9oclock or they would have removed towels. Kids disco needed more about it. Same stuff every night. Peeling paint on the doors. We had a nice time but will not go back again. It needs some tlc badly.

Clean but very basic, food ok , no entertainment or sorry what they classed as entertainment was very poor. Most of staff not interested , it's what it says 3 star. Plus side we met some nice people .The service from most of the staff ok,and we had a horrid smell in bathroom which they did sort out straight away. Cleaner didn't give you time to get out of bed . She was always there early and only knocked once on door then let herself in . And someone cutting down bushes outside bedroom window at 8 in the morning. It was ok but I wouldn't stay there again .

We had ants all over the dining table all the time we even videoed them we had some sort of insects on work tops and when we cut bread on a plate put plate in sink it was there about ten minutes when I went to wash it there was insects crawling all over it we videoed that as well would definitely not go back a waste of money

The hotel was in a perfect location, just as the details said. Perfect accommodation which was cleaned every day. Clean towels everyday and bedding changed once during my week's stay. I travelled alone and felt perfectly at home. The apartments are fabulously spacious, even for more travellers than one! Service, staff and grounds of the complex were excellent. The pool could do with updating and there were a couple of missing tiles. Wear and tear I guess.

Choice of food was good but it could have been a little bit hotter and there wasn't a lot of choice if you were a vegetarian.

The night time entertainment was a little disappointing and could do with some new ideas.

All in all I was delighted with my choice and would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
