Disneyland Paris is magical all-year-round... Filled with thrilling theme park rides, captivating shows, restaurants and shops, and endless attractions, it’s a place that never fails to put a smile on everyone’s face.
Samantha Mann from our PTC team had the brilliant opportunity of a visit last month. She enjoyed a stay at Disney’s Newport Bay Club and is excited to tell you all about it.
“The location of the hotel is fantastic, just a 10-15 minute walk to all of the Disney parks, making it very convenient for those with small children. It also means you are not having to queue for the shuttle bus during peak times of the day, such as immediately after the crowded illuminations show!"
“We were given the chance to meet a character in the hotel each morning from 8:15-11:00am and the queue time was considerably less than waiting to meet them in the Disney parks; it was also nice because we were in the comfort of a warm space. I really liked how the hotel had Club Level Rooms, which gives access to a private lounge and provides priority check in and additional perks.
“There are a couple of great restaurant options at the hotel. The main restaurant boasts many tasty buffet options, as well as a lovely a la carte menu. The buffet breakfast in Cape Cod has plenty of choice and everything was so yummy, it ranged from a full American cooked breakfast to croissants and crepes - the perfect fuel for a fun-filled day in the parks."
“The bar offers a variety of drinks. I found the Disney special drinks delicious... the chocolate orange Mickey Mouse hot chocolate really gets you in the festive spirit, especially when you’re sat surrounded by beautiful Christmas decorations.
“During our trip, we got to explore both of the parks at Disneyland Paris. We had the ultimate fast pass which gave us the opportunity to experience as many rides as possible... something I would recommend to anybody visiting during peak times throughout the year! We saved so much time not having to queue which then meant we could maximise our time in the parks.
“With special character meet and greets because of the Christmas season, it was the perfect opportunity to get plenty of festive snaps and selfies. A perk of staying in a Disney hotel meant that you could have access to Early Magic Hours in the parks, so you could get into the park an hour before everyone else."
“Disneyland is a magical place filled with so much atmosphere and it was so important to enjoy downtime to just take it all in... The Disneyland Hotel cafe is the perfect place to do this.
“There are so many exciting shows to watch at Disneyland but unfortunately time on this trip just didn't allow us to experience them all. I’d recommend seeing as many as possible if you can."
“In the parks, I really liked The Earl of Sandwich as it has lots of choice for those not necessarily wanting a sit-down meal. You can choose from ham and cheese sandwiches to Hawaiian BBQ melts and fresh salads - there is definitely something for everyone.
“Cafe Hyperion in Discovery Island has plenty of good seating and a screen showing Disney cartoons to keep the children occupied. This is your typical takeaway venue, offering burgers, fries, and chicken nugget meals but with a Disney twist. For a sit-down option, Plaza Gardens offers a nice all-you-can-eat buffet.
“I would recommend staying in a Disney hotel because there are so many benefits... the fabulous offers that are available as well as the proximity to the parks made my Disneyland Paris trip the most magical experience."
“I'd also really suggest booking the Disney Express; by paying a little extra you can have your bags dropped at the train station if arriving by Eurostar. Disneyland is also a busy place and restaurants fill up quickly, so I’d advise booking your meals in advance. If you’re only staying for a couple of days maybe take a day trip into Paris or visit Val D'Europe shopping centre, which is just one stop away on the train.”
