This year, we’ve chosen The Rowans Hospice as our chosen charity. The Rowans Hospice is a local organisation that is dedicated to improving the lives of local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
The Rowans Hospice team helps people diagnosed with a terminal illness live each day to the full and focus on what is important and meaningful. Services are provided free of charge, and so the charity relies on local support to continue its vital work.
We recently held a coffee morning, with all staff and families being involved. We all made various cakes at home on the Sunday for the following days events, and we sold raffle tickets for the couple of weeks running up to and on the day. As Titchfield is a small village, with limited other shops to donate, most of the raffle prizes were donated by the staff, apart from the 1st prize which was a Hay's Voucher for £150, including a painting by our FX clerk Samantha, she is a well-known local artist.
We were delighted to have raised £374.14 (£75 more than last years event) and presented the local Rowans branch manager and her staff with the funds the following day.
