You'll find plenty of activities to enjoy during a holiday in Slovenia. In the summer there's a good choice of watersports on offer. Night-life in Slovenia varies from town to town. Larger towns have a good choice of nightclubs and cinemas. Ljubljana has many bars and clubs together with its opera house and also the symphony orchestra plays regularly in the Cultural and Congress Centre. The university town of Maribor also has a good nightlife scene, while the main action on the coast is in the resort of Portoroz.
There are many restaurants and cafes to tempt your tastebuds in Slovenia. Local favourites include sauerkraut, grilled sausage, apple strudel, cheese and potato dumplings feature on many menus. Locally brewed Slovenian wine is also a popular choice.
