This year we have been actively fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support and raised more than £700 in one day through selling treats, hosting raffles and organising competitions.
Along with other business in Church Street, and with help from the town council, we arranged the construction of a grotto in the street during December 2015. To help cover the cost, we donated 75 selection boxes to local children who visited Father Christmas. The children were delighted and, despite awful weather, a good day was had by all!
Our other voluntary work includes working closely with staff and pupils from Seaham School of Technology by supporting any events and activities. Also, we took part in Seaham’s Boxing Day Dip for Macmillian and raised £320, we also held an annual Macmillan coffee morning in September and raised £820. We have sponsored a local, under-seven football team which is now playing in a Hays Travel strip!
This year we sponsored a travel and tourism award at Seaham High School. Sharon and Karen attended the awards ceremony and presented the winner with an award.
