Sandos Papgayo Beach Resort

There is plenty to write home about at the 4 star Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort in Playa Blanca. Firstly, there is the choice of beaches. You will find Las Coloradas, just 20 metres away and Papagayo Beach, a 600 metre stroll. Secondly, the star attraction is the pool scene. The three freeform swimming pools are lined with sun loungers, sun beds and parasols. On top of all this, why not up the tempo and have fun on the sports court or challenge your partner to a game of tennis? Or kick back and relax in the whirlpool or enjoy a soothing wine therapy treatment in the spa.

The children are in for fun too. A kids club, play area and two pools are just some of the attractions in store. When it comes to dining, you can eat your meals in no less than five restaurants. From lavish buffets to Asian, Mexican and French cuisine, there are plenty of flavours to tempt your palate. The bedrooms are spacious and equipped with all the latest mod cons. Maybe treat yourself to an upgrade to Royal Elite status and enjoy extra benefits and a sea view. From a bottle of cava on arrival, to a good night chocolate on your pillow, courtesy mini bar and access to the Royal Elite Lounge.

When the sun goes down, a varied line up of evening entertainment awaits. There is a mini disco for the children and live music, shows and a nightclub for the grownups. Quiet times are to be had on the Chill out Terrace, perfect for frozen margaritas and mojitos. With so much to offer in one place, it is easy to see why the 4 star Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort is a popular choice for family holidays in Lanzarote.

Sue in your Broadstone Shop was exellent as always

Miss Brotherton, 01 November 2016

We've just come back from a week's family holiday at Aldemar Amilia Mare. It was a lovely hotel, and the rooms were cleaned every day. A free safe deposit box was included in our room and free beach towels were available every day from the towel hire shop.

Typical all inclusive food, which was fine. I would recommend booking the themed restaurant meals as soon as you get there (you are entitled to use them twice during a 1 week stay). We tried to book ours 2 days into our holiday, and we were unable to book for the Italian restaurant as it was fully booked for the duration of our stay. The chinese meal we had was lovely though.

Plenty for the kids to do...pools, pool table and beach for my 12 year old son and my 5 year old daughter loved the mini club and mini disco. The hotel animation team staff there were lovely, she particularly liked Aurora and Martina, who work extremely hard keeping the kids happy during the day, then again at the mini-disco at night-time, plus part of the evening entertainment too.

I would recommend a trip into Rhodes town (approximately 12 euros by taxi, so ideal for a family of 4, and probably just as cheap as getting the bus).

Our hotel rep, Ellie, was lovely too, and very helpful, as were the reception staff.

There is a pharmacy just across the road (be careful while crossing, as it's a very busy road), which I think is peace of mind when you have children with you. We were unfortunate enough to have to use it, but not for anything too serious.

The only negative issue I have with the hotel is because it was coming to the end of the season (which we did to minimise the days off school for the kids), a lot of the little bars and snack places were closed down. I feel this should have been pointed out to us, seeing as we were paying so much money and thought we would be able to use all of the facilities. Why not keep them open until the end of the season? Also a lot of the Tui/First Choice excursions weren't available due to it being the end of the season.

We were due to be picked up at 6.10 for our bus to the airport, and you have to be out of the rooms by 12 noon (it was going to cost an extra 80 euros to keep our room until 6pm, which I thought was very excessive). There is however a luggage store room, and shower facilities by the indoor pool, so we were able to make the most of our last afternoon there by the pool, and able to freshen up before our journey home.

All in all, a great family holiday and I would definitely go back, but perhaps in September when hopefully, all of the facilities would be available.

Mr Parkinson, 26 June 2016

This is one of the best all inclusive hotels we have been to, the staff are lovely the food is good and the hotel clean.

Mrs Arkley, 30 May 2016

Although clean the room could do with updating-damaged furniture.the most disappointing thing was the patio outlook straight at the perimeter fence

Mr Smith, 18 April 2016

Our third visit good service.

Mrs Rogerson, 26 January 2016

Mr Pillai, 17 November 2015

Accommodation was pleasant and clean.

Mr Pillai, 17 November 2015

Very satisfied with this hotel would stay there again.

Mr Edwards, 06 September 2015

The hotel was clean and well presented, but not really our cup of tea. Way too noisy and crowded. Our room overlooked the swimming pool, which we named 'the Ibiza pool' due to the music and noise that came from it! The food in the hotel was ok - it catered for Brits abroad and also those who want at least a taster of the local cuisine. However the coastline was beautiful and the weather fab.

Mr Ellis, 04 July 2015

Very clean and tidy hotel and grounds
Friendly staff

Mrs Varcoe, 29 April 2014

Fabulous would definitely go back

Mrs Moffatt, 11 April 2014

Ideal for our trip as the Royal Elite up grade was perfect for us with a toddler.
Rather too large and busy a hotel for us, as a mature couple, but ideal for families.
Food excellent, both choice and quality.
Whole complex very clean, with friendly staff. Only criticism--no help with luggage on arrival--had to find own room--in dark with tired child, not good!!
Someone did escort us, in the end, but we have never been in an hotel of this calibre and not had our luggage transferred to and from our room.

Mrs Heslop, 25 March 2014

Top notch. Excellent food. Excellent location. Excellent staff.

Mrs Askam, 31 January 2014

Good

Mrs Holme, 27 December 2013
