Occupying a thirty-two acre former sugar plantation estate in the north west and bordering a mile long stretch of white sandy beach, the Almond Beach Village is one of the most popular hotels in Barbados. The all-inclusive concept includes a myriad of activities including both land based and water sports – and there are ten swimming pools! There is a choice of five dining venues plus room service and a fantastic evening entertainment programme. Being so large, the hotel has separate adults-only and family sections including exclusive pools giving it an attraction for singles, couples, groups and families alike. We can organise a wedding here, perhaps using the old bougainvillea draped sugar mill for the photo back drop. No matter their age, from newborn to teen, children will be well entertained at the activity centre.
The Almond Beach Village is a fully contained resort – it even has its own shops but it is always good to explore the surroundings outside. Speightstown can be easily reached on foot and there are a few bars and restaurants there. Hire a car and explore the sugar cane clad hills and the incredible east coast or take the local bus to Bridgetown, a forty minute journey away.
