The modern resort of Port El Kantaoui is located 10km north of Sousse in central Tunisia. Holidays in Port el Kantaoui mix Andalucian style arches, lamp illuminated quays and narrow cobbled pathways with modern boutiques, restaurants, souvenir shops and cafés. The picturesque resort is surrounded by two stretches of sandy beach and with a lively marina at its centre, perfect for those seeking a peaceful holiday in stylish surroundings. There are two 18-hole courses to choose from for golfers or take to the waters and explore the wonders of the local marine life on a fishing trip or aboard a glass-bottom boat. For culture fans there’s the nearby ancient city of Sousse to visit with its medina, souks, 8th century ribat, funduqs and museums. The marina is the place to head during the evening, for a meal and a quiet drink looking out on the luxury yachts, or take a stroll around the shops in the new medina. What's more, flights to Tunisia take just less than 3.5 hours from the UK, so a holiday in Port el Kantaoui is never too far away!
Holidays in Port el Kantaoui are packed with things to see and do. The beach has plenty of water sports activities to enjoy including pedalos, paragliding, windsurfing, waterskiing and jetskiing. On dry land, play a round of golf or a game of tennis, take a ride on a horse or camel, or go quad biking. The children will enjoy the Aqua Palaces slides and wave pools, the small zoo, the Hannibal Park amusement park with a rollercoaster, fairytale rides and a childrens playground. The Hergla Karting Park is also popular with its more adventurous rides. Enjoy an evening of traditional Tunisian entertainment at a Bedouin feast.
Nighttime activity in Port El Kantoaoui centres on the bars and restaurants around the marina. Hotels offer a mix of discos and live entertainment, but this is not a place for hectic nightlife. There is also a casino about five minutes away.
Tunisian food is a mixture of Mediterranean (French, Spanish & Italian) and traditional Tunisian recipes. Hot and spicy harissa paste is the mainstay of many dishes and couscous is the national dish and is served with vegetables, lamb, poultry or fish. Seafood is widely available and you can also chose from many international dishes on the menu too. Locally made Tunisian wine, Thibourine and Boukha liqueurs and Celtia beer are a good accompaniment to your meal.
