Holidays in Playa del Ingles revolve around the beach and the legendary nightlife. The resort name translates literally to ‘Englishman’s Beach’ - not surprising, given the crowds of British visitors it pulls in every year. Situated on the South coast of Gran Canaria, Playa del Ingles basks in year-round sunshine, but really comes to life in the summer months. Revellers party until dawn in pubs, clubs and dedicated entertainment centres. Playa del Ingles hits a slightly calmer vibe from November to April, when couples, families and single travellers check-in for a dose of winter sun. When it comes to retail therapy, you'll be spoilt for choice - in town there's the Yumbo and Kasbah centres to explore and the capital Las Palmas with its boutiques, designer names and high street favourites is only a 25 minute drive away. For a real bargain, don't miss the San Fernando market that takes place on Wednesdays and Sundays in nearby Maspalomas. Holidays in Playa del Ingles are all about fun in the sun - so why not hop on a flight to Gran Canaria this year and see what you're missing!
