The weather in Nerja is another reason why fans love it so much. The Costa del Sol as a whole enjoys as many as 360 days sunshine per year. In high summer, temperatures can often exceed 30°C. Autumn and Spring are popular times to visit. Although the rainiest time in the Costa del Sol is from November to January, rain tends to come in short downpours and daytime highs can reach around 14°C, making holidays in Nerja apopular choice in the winter.
Things to see & do

Nerja holidays tend to be all about the beach (or the beaches there's 16km of them here.) Away from the soft sands and sea, explore inland villages like Frigiliana, packed with traditional charm. Underneath the resort, theres a fascinating network of prehistoric caves, complete with ancient paintings. Golfers love the Costa del Sol for its courses and there are plenty near to Nerja. Great day trips from here include taking the boat to Gibraltar, culture and stunning scenery in Ronda and the mustsee Alhambra Palace at Granada.

Many hotels in Nerja offer entertainment, usually in the form of cabaret and shows. In the resort, youll find a host of late night venues, from karaoke bars to clubs. Still, the resort is large enough for visitors to be able to avoid the nightlife if they wish which is one of the reasons so many couples and families come here. For a much slowerpaced lifestyle, head into the Old Town and pull up a chair at a pavement cafe.
