Antalya

Antalya is the gateway to the area of south Turkey known as the Turkish Riviera. With a warm year-round climate, luxury hotels, golf courses and beautiful beaches, the Antalya region has plenty to offer its visitors. Backed by the rugged Taurus Mountains, the Antalya coastline offers a good choice of holiday resorts, each with their own character and atmosphere. Antalya’s pretty old town has a palm-lined promenade and vibrant nightlife, while Belek has great golf courses and a pristine shoreline. Side combines ancient ruins with a smart harbour and modern seaside hotels, whilst Alanya has two sandy beaches and a 13th century fortress. Kemer is lively after dark and Lara Beach is home to a selection of five star seafront hotels. Popular with families, couples and solo travellers, the Antalya region has something to suit every kind of holidaymaker.

Things To Do

Holidays in the Turkish Riviera often centre around the region's excellent beaches, but there's far more to do besides swimming and sunbathing. Golf, diving, shopping, snorkelling, hiking and water sports are just some of the many activities on offer. Explore the Damlatas Caves in Alanya, or discover the ancient amphitheatre and temple ruins at Side. Dolphinland and Aqualand in Anatalya make great family days out.

Food & Drink

You’ll be spoilt for choice on where to dine out on the Turkish Riviera. You can chose from a range of English, European and Chinese dishes along with fast food takeaways in larger resorts. Don't miss local Turkish dishes such as Kofte, Shish Kebab and Dolma followed by Baklava for dessert. Turkish coffee and raki are local specialist drinks. All inclusive hotels are increasingly popular in the region.

In The Evening

Each of the resorts on the Turkish Riviera has its own range of evening entertainment to keep all ages happy. Nightlife in Alanya is lively, but doesn't tend to attract crowds of revellers. In most larger resorts, you can choose between belly dancing shows, discos, clubs and quiet bars.
