Zante Town

The biggest attraction of Zante are its beautiful beaches. Choose from tucked-away coves and broad stretches of sweeping white sand, all lapped by clear blue seas. Like most Greek islands, Zante (or Zakynthos to give it its Greek name) combines natural beauty with great tourist facilities. On the coast, you'll find bustling, purpose-built resorts, whilst inland it's all rolling hills and olive groves.

Zante has a resort to suit every kind of holidaymaker, from revellers seeking the nightlife of Laganas to families looking for child-friendly fun in Tsilivi. With water sports, boat trips, delicious food, charming tavernas and modern shops and bars, there's no shortage of things to do on holidays in Zante. Check in to self-catering apartments, beach front hotels and great value all inclusive resorts. Wherever you stay in Zante, you're bound to have a relaxing summer holiday.

Things To Do
Water sports, boat trips, walking, swimming, shopping, turtle-spotting and scuba diving: the list of things to do on Zante is (almost) endless. If you fancy a change of scenery, head to the neighbouring island of Kefalonia, or take a day excursion to historic Olympia on the mainland. Don't miss a trip to Smuggler's Cove, one of Greece's most photographed beaches. You'll find a run-aground boat swept up on a bright white beach. To avoid the crowds, view the site by road from the clifftop overhead.
Food & Drink
Greek cuisine uses locally grown produce to create delicious dishes like moussaka and fresh feta salads. Traditional tavernas offer the perfect venue for al fresco dinners after dark. In most resorts on Zante, you'll find a good choice of international restaurants, serving up food from Italy, China, India and beyond. The local tipple is Ouzo, but many bars in hotels and resorts offer cocktails and other drinks from all over the globe.
In The Evening
Nightlife in Zante varies from resort to resort. By far the biggest and loudest destination on the island is Laganas. With a heady mix of nightclubs and bars, Laganas is a firm favourite with revellers and not recommended for those seeking a quieter getaway. The island capital Zakynthos town is a good pick for seaside nights out accompanied by traditional Greek music. In Tsilivi and Argassi, there's lots to do after dark, with a good range of pubs and karaoke bars, but these resorts are more popular with families and couples than the clubbing set. Alykes, Kalamaki and Alykanas are lower-key, but still have plenty of bars and restaurants. Elsewhere, in more secluded resorts and all inclusive accommodation, entertainment tends to be hotel-based.
