Cyprus

Ancient history, modern holiday resorts and natural beauty combine to make holidays in Cyprus a popular choice with British travellers. Legend has it that ancient Greek goddess of Love Aphrodite was born just off the coast of Cyprus, making it a great place to head for honeymoons and romantic breaks. There are plenty of fascinating historical sights to be discovered, including ancient ruins and preserved mosaics. Choose from holiday resorts like bustling Ayia Napa, with its lively nightlife scene and Paphos, with its smart harbour and stretch of luxury hotels. Golden beaches, rugged coves, olive groves and pine forests begged to be explored – as do the dramatic mountain ranges. With over 300 years of sunshine a year, it's easy to see why Cyprus holidays are a popular choice with families, couples, solo travellers and groups of friends. What's more, a flight to Cyprus takes only around 4 hours from most UK airports, so a holiday to Cyprus is never too far away.

Things To Do
Holidays in Cyprus are packed with things to see and do. Choose from a huge choice of water sports in the larger resorts, as well as boat trips and scuba diving. Try cycling, hiking and horse riding in the Troodos Mountains. Go shopping in Limassol and Nicosia. Paphos makes a great day out, with the Tomb of the Kings, St Paul’s Pillar and Temple of Aphrodite. There are also three excellent golf courses in the area. For families, there are water parks in Paphos and Ayia Napa, plus great days out at Pafos Birdpark, Limassol Donkey Sanctuary and the Camel Park at Larnaca. Don't miss a day trip to Cairo by sea.
Food & Drink
Local cuisine includes Halloumi cheese and strong coffee, as well as meals cooked with fresh, locally-grown produce. Cypriot food is best sampled al fresco in a tiny taverna. Try freshly caught seafood at Paphos harbour, or head to one of the many international restaurants in the larger resorts. For great value, book an all-inclusive hotel, where snacks, meals and selected drinks are included in the cost of your holiday.
In The Evening
As the sun goes down in Cyprus, resorts come to life with entertainment to suit all tastes. There’s famous Ayia Napa, popular with the party crowd, who flock to its bustling bars and nightclubs. Limassol has plenty of clubs and bars, whilst Paphos has a good selection of pubs and quieter venues. There's plenty going on in Protaras after dark, but the atmosphere is family-orientated. In Larnaca, the promenade is lined with bars and clubs. Nicosia nightlife is more sophisticated, with restaurants with live Cypriot music and traditional bars. Many hotels offer in-house entertainment, including local shows, dancing and karaoke.
