Part traditional Greek village, part bustling holiday resort, Lindos really is the best of both worlds. Topped by an acropolis with amazing views, this pretty town is steeped in ancient history. That’s the reason why it’s been protected from mass tourism; no vehicles are allowed on the narrow streets that wind beneath the whitewashed buildings and high rise hotels are a no-no. Charming though they are, holidays to Lindos aren’t lacking in mod cons - the resort’s sandy beaches have all the sunbeds, parasols and white knuckle watersports you could possibly wish for. And in the evenings, the perfect mix of authentic tavernas and a handful of late night bars means there’s something here for everyone. It’s easy to see why Lindos holidays are a big hit with couples and families alike.

The weather in Lindos is one of the main attractions – in fact, it’s said to be slightly hotter than the rest of Rhodes. Most people come on holidays to Lindos during the summer months, when temperatures can soar as high as 30°C. Summer runs from May through to October and many choose to head to Rhodes in spring and autumn, when temperatures are a little cooler.
Things to see & do

Lindos holidays are packed with things to see and do. If you want to see the acropolis and the stunning views from the top of the hill, hop on top of one of the resort donkeys (and dont forget your camera.) Down at the beach, there are plenty of watersports, including waterskiing and windsurfing. If you want to explore beneath the surface, snorkelling and diving excursions are available too. Elsewhere on the island, theres so much to discover, including archaeological sites, tranquil Butterfly Valley and the cobbled streets of Rhodes Town. If you fancy a change of scenery, take a boat trip to the beautiful neighbouring island of Symi.

You wont find the allnight clubbing scene of nearby Faliraki here, but that doesnt mean its silent after dark. Holidays to Lindos offer just the right amount of takeitorleaveit nightlife. There are plenty of Greek tavernas, a few late night bars and a couple of clubs.

Food & drink

It should go without saying that there are plenty of Greek tavernas in Lindos. Order Greek specialities like moussaka, olives, hummus (and of clourse, ouzo) and enjoy beneath the stars. Its definitely worth the hike to the top of the hill for a table with a terrace and a view. As well as the local cuisine, youll find a choice of eateries in Lindos serving up everything from chips to Italian meals. Many hotels in Lindos have their own, onsite restaurants.
