Best New Year break ever
I stayed at this hotel from the end of December 2014 until the beginning of January 2015. With the excitement of Christmas, I couldn't wait to go to the Royal Holiday Resort.

After reading property information and reviews, the hotel did not disappoint. The Royal Holiday Resort met every expectation and more. The lobby was so grand and immaculate with an amazing Christmas tree in the centre and decorations all over.

We were met by helpful and very friendly staff wearing Santa hats and offering alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails while you waited to be checked in. Check-in was very smooth and professional. A porter was waiting to carry our bags to the golf buggy where we were driven to our room. Along the way, we noticed how beautiful the resort was. Gardens were well-groomed and very clean. The hotel exterior was very well lit with clear directions to the salon, shops and other onsite facilities. We didn't worry about getting lost!

The room was beautiful. Simple, yet tastefully decorated. Spacious, but comfortable. Every area of the room was spotless and there was lovely towel art on the bed with a fresh bowl of fruit.
There were a few pools here too: adult, lively and heated during winter.

The gorgeous beach with a private jetty sat just out the front of the hotel and through the Sonesta Beach Club hotel, which you can also use for other amenities.

A 10 or 15-minute walk along the promenade takes you to the bustling Na'ama Bay with countless restaurants, including Hard Rock Café, and amazing shops.

The food in the hotel is plentiful; always something to eat. We only ate in the main buffet restaurant, which was enough for our one-week stay. But there were two buffet and a few a la carte restaurants that you could pay extra for. I would recommend doing the a la carte restaurants to people going for longer than a week, as the buffet food can become repetitive.

The teas, coffees and soft drinks were great, although the alcoholic drinks, like many other all-inclusive resorts in Egypt, taste quite watered down. But the beauty of an all-inclusive holiday is you can have as many as you like!

New Year's Eve; wow! The most amazing New Year's celebration I've ever had. It started with waiter-service meals outside in the heated entertainment area, with admirable effort from all the staff. A singer and saxophone player were playing while people had their meals and once people finished, the children's entertainment started. After that, there were professional acts including dance shows.

The countdown to New Year was incredible. There was a disco with a great DJ and a balloon-drop when it struck midnight. Following the balloon drop, there were great tribute acts on. We danced all night.

A great Christmas and New Year break with lovely staff and the cleanest, grandest hotel around. I would certainly recommend the Royal Holiday Resort.

Mrs Jones, 17 November 2015

Accommodation was good, clean, staff really nice and helpful. Food in the restaurant not so good and not a lot of choice

Mr Hales, 16 November 2015

The hotel was very good although our room was quite a walk from the dining room and other facilities and as I have a slight disability it became a bit of a trek.

Mrs Blizard, 16 November 2015

Accommodation and facilities brilliant, choice of food poor

Mrs Hallawell, 08 October 2014

Mr Dryden, 31 January 2014

Accommodation and staff were excellent definately 5star immaculate rooms pools etc.. however it was not all inclusive!!!! You had to pay for drinks in the lobby bar and sky bar. The Italian restaurant was also chargeable and room service was chargeable which meant you had to go to the buffet restaurant everyday which was very repetitive. Other 5star all inclusive holidays which I have been on meant everything was included but not in this case. the food in general was ok but nothing special. There were cases of sickness and diarrhoea in the hotel
