Mix magnificent, unspoiled sandy beaches with local culture and history for an unforgettable holiday to Kyrenia. This Cyprus resort is definitely chic with a capital 'C' - situated in the north of the island, there's plenty for you to see, from stunning architecture to the iconic whitewashed buildings in the Old Town. If you fancy indulging in a little retail therapy on your holiday to Cyprus, Kyrenia has it all. Make sure you pack light so you can bring back plenty of souvenirs!

Temperatures can reach a blissfully warm 30°C during the summer in Cyprus, so packing plenty of high-factor sunscreen is recommended. What better way to enjoy the glorious weather than by spending some time on one of the beautiful sandy beaches? Acapulco, Escape and Algadi beach - also known as 'Turtle Beach' as it is used as a nesting spot for loggerhead turtles - are very popular with holidaymakers and locals alike. For an active day at the beach, why not try snorkelling to see beneath the waves, or if you're feeling really adventurous you can try paragliding and enjoy the fantastic view!

If you're keen to spend some time away from the beach on your Kyrenia holiday, why not unleash your inner explorer and see what the stunning Kyrenia Castle has to offer? The 7th Century castle is home to a Byzantium church and the tomb of the Ottoman Admiral, Sadik Pasha. There are also dungeons, towers and The Shipwreck Museum on site, so you definitely won't want to forget your camera!

For ultimate relaxation, you can head to the Old harbour in Kyrenia. Stroll along the pretty promenade and admire the eye-catching boats before stopping for a drink or a bite to eat in one of the quaint cafes. The cosmopolitan capital city of Cyprus, Nicosia is less than an hour away if you fancy a day trip. While there, you can visit the authentic Turkish baths and soak in the local culture for a unique experience.

For a lively end to the day, you can choose from the array of bars along the seafront and dance the night away in style. A few famous clubs in the area include Cafe 34 and Night Park, which both provide excellent entertainment - although it's much less wild than Ayia Napa, Cyprus' famous party capital. Back in Kyrenia, you'll be charmed by the fantastic choice of tempting restaurants. There's a wide range of tasty local Cypriot delicacies like kebabs, kofte and grilled halloumi cheese to try, and don't forget to wash it all down with a brandy sour - widely regarded as Cyprus' favourite cocktail!
