A visit to the 12th century Kasbah, the International Cultural Centre and the Great Mosque and a walk along the walls of the 15th century Medina are a must for culture fans. The Roman remains of Pupput give an insight into Tunisia?s Roman heritage. A ride through the Sahara Desert dunes is an awesome experience. The children will have a splashing time on the waterslides at Flipper Waterpark.
After dark, Hammamet is alive with bars and pubs, with the fun continuing until midnight. Most hotels offer their own in house entertainment programme. There are a few popular nightclubs on the edge of the resort, including Calypso and Oasis, where famous name DJs often perform.
There is an excellent choice of restaurants and cafes to satisfy all tastes in Hammamet. International favourites including pizza and traditional English fare are on the menu, along with local dishes such as couscous, brik, tajines, ojja and makroudha. Local beers and wines make a great accompaniment to any meal.
