Top Quality, Should be a 5 Star!
I visited the H10 Rubicon Palace on 14 September 2014 for a week's stay. The hotel was huge, it was like a village in itself and really lived up to it's name of 'Palace'

Loads of choice of bars and restaurants. The all inclusive food was served in the main buffet restaurant which was lovely, theme changed every night and there was something for everyone. There was lots of seafood, so if you are into seafood then this will be fantastic, but also if you don't like seafood there was absolutely loads of choice of other food. I am not a seafood fan at all and I found something to eat every day at every meal time without any problems. The service in the restaurant was really good.

There were three restaurants on site - The Italian, Mediterranean and Asian. We ate in the Italian restaurant one night, which was included in the all inclusive, and it was really nice. There was also the snack bar by the pool, which served fresh burgers, hot dogs, salads, chips, pasta or you could even make your own toasties which again were a great standard.

There were also three bars on site too - the piano bar, the entertainment hall and the sports bar. The piano bar was fantastic for chilling out and listening to the fantastic piano players and singers- they had different people every night and they were all fantastic. The entertainment hall was very family orientated but when it got to about 10pm it would get a little more adult focussed but still suitable for children. The animation team worked so, so hard to entertain everyone throughout the day or at night but they don't pester you. The Sports bar was the bar that was open the latest and it had more of a pubby atmosphere and was lovely. The bar staff were so well mannered and spoke really good English. We ended up here every night as there was loads to do such as pool, air hockey etc, or you could just go there to chill out. The air-con in there was really powerful, so it was nice on a warm night and you got complimentary nuts to go with your drinks if you fancied them, which was a nice little touch. All staff in all of the bars were always smiling (taking into consideration they have probably been working for a straight 12 hours) which was impressive and very welcoming.

There was a mini market on every night, just outside the food hall in the hotel too, which coincided with whatever theme was on that night. And the alcohol served was mostly branded stuff too, which I have never experienced in any hotel yet so that was good!

When we got to the hotel we got upgraded to a sea view room (6052) and we could see Fuerteventura too. The rooms were very spacious and the balcony was massive. Rooms cleaned every day as well. We also got a complimentary spa day, which was a great quality spa and a bottle of cava (we didn't take advantage of the cava as we aren't big cava fans) so if you email the hotel before you go with any requests you have, they will email you back and they will do everything they can to honour your request. We didn't ask for the cava or the spa day we only asked for the sea view and we got all of those other things thrown in. So yes definitely email about two weeks before you go if you have any requests.

The hotel was out of the way of Playa Blanca but it was either a lovely 40-45 minute walk along the promenade to Playa Blanca, which had plenty of bars and restaurants on the way, and when you reach the resort centre there were loads there too. If you carry on that little bit further, you will reach the Marina Rubicon, which was beautiful and we ate in a place called 'LANI'S', which did fantastic cocktails and fantastic meals, so that's a one to recommend.

Or you could get a taxi instantly from the hotel - go to the reception, ask for a taxi and they press a button and the taxi was there within seconds, which was great, because you're not waiting around. Taxi was normally around 3-5 euro, which wasn't bad at all.

Excursions leave from right outside of the Rubicon Palace also so you're not having to go to another place to be picked up. I recommend the Volcanic Escape as you get to experience the natural history of Lanzarote and see all of the volcanoes, natural sites and even get a little wine tasting included!

All in all I would recommend this hotel to everyone, care and attention is taken in every area of the hotel and there is something for every client.

Mrs Taylor, 03 December 2016

It is a good hotel but in need of the makeover it is having to make it the 5 star it has just got. Now has a la carte restaurants and a coffee shop which add to the overall ambience and quality of the hotel. The flooring around the pool area is being replaced and it is beautiful. Hope the prices don't go up too much though as it will be 5 star as we couldn't afford it then and we have been 6 times now.

Mrs Walton, 30 November 2016

This was our second visit to the Rubicon. we really like it. It is comfortable. It is a lovely facility. The restaurant serves a choice of food. The animation team work hard. The pool is clean and well supervised.

Mr Ransome, 28 November 2016

Lovely place .... there are room spread about the site and I would recommend the ones not directly attached to the Hotel for quietness at night. Rooms were brilliant with coffee and tea making facilities. Hotel had free wifi. The food was just greast. Plenty of choice and different each day. ONLY snag was at busy times it ran out out cups and glasses. Great hotel facilities . The location was just outside of Playa Blanca ... just a few kilometres. Taxi was 4.5 Euros and the bus was 1.4 euros ... both about 5/10 mins journey. Any trips appeared to make this hotel the first pickup, so you got good seats on the coaches. Looking forward to going there again

Mr Entwistle, 28 November 2016

Ideal location for a winter break with younger children. Pleasant spacious rooms, good food and very helpful staff.

Mr Gray, 22 November 2016

Quite tired and well used hotel but staff helpful and obliging at all times. Overall enjoyable holiday

Mr Jose, 08 November 2016

Really needed a good clean very under-staffed and a lack of toilets where they needed to be. Staff very friendly but pushed to the limit , sometimes took over 20 minutes to get a drink and tables where we were one night took over an hour to be cleared off.

Miss Knights, 07 November 2016

Hotel short of staff, no glasses cups at meal times rooms not cleaned until 14.30.Seems to badly organised.

Mrs Dobbie, 07 November 2016

Really enjoyed our holiday. But Thomas cook seating was very uncomfortable and we didn't get the seats we booked but this has happened to us before when flying with Thomas cook Condor flights.

Mrs Nichols, 25 October 2016

We were disappointed with the room. A standard room is NOT big enough for a family of 4 adult sized people (x2 adults x2 children aged 15 & 12). I fed this back to both the hotel & Thompson rep and we're told you've got what you paid for! Very disappointing response.

Mrs Carrington, 22 October 2016

Fabulous hotel if you have kids , fabulous even if you don't have kids loved it

Miss Lindley, 18 October 2016

Nice clean room, clean grounds and pools. Not enough bar staff on in the evenings and access to drinks was limited with only the pool bar open during the day. The pool bar and toilets are also quite a distance from the children's pool which was inconvenient.

Miss Griffiths, 12 October 2016

Good

Mr Powley, 11 October 2016

Mrs Wilds, 07 October 2016

Mrs Heduvan, 30 August 2016

Room was clean but noise from road outside was quite annoying. main building could do with some redecoration and updating, quite scruffy in places.

Mrs Harrison, 23 August 2016

Needs to be different arrangements re people resverving sun beds plus the only other thing is the beds are rock hard

Mrs Dolan, 23 August 2016

Excellent

Ms Briggs, 17 August 2016

Brilliant. Staff were helpful, resort was beautiful, clean and the food was amazing. Would definitely return and recommend

Mr Taylor, 04 July 2016

Hotel staff worked very hard , but there was not enough staff for the size of the hotel. We had to go to the reception several times during our stay over different issues mainly shortage of towels . Food could of been a lot warmer and public areas could have been a lot cleaner we feel this hotel needs a full refurbished and in its present state it doesn't warrant 4 stars and we will never return to this hotel

Mrs Proudlove, 12 June 2016

Excellent service. Well looked after and couldn't couldn't be more helpful. Will used the Nantwich shop again

Mr Pulford, 01 June 2016

Room was nice, but the rest of the Hotel was tired + dirty Tables in lounge were rarely wiped, Food awful, they took 20 Euros as a deposit for towels + wouldn't refund it. In al we were totally disapointed.

Mr Hunt, 17 May 2016

Pleasant room with good facilities

Mrs Scott, 10 May 2016

The hotel complex was wonderful, as were the staff. Our disappointment was that it was very isolated and had to get a bus everywhere. We wouldn't go back.

Mrs Dunn, 01 May 2016

This is a lovely hotel and all the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The only thing that we could criticise about the hotel itself is that the corridors outside the rooms very rarely seemed to be cleaned but also we did not appreciate the influx of about 360 people from a Polish firm for about 5 days who were very loud and noisy. It made the hotel seem like an 18 - 30s hotel.

Mrs Ball, 29 March 2016

A good 4**** rating with good facilities. A little out of the main area of Playa blanca but does not matter if AI .If you like walking ,it has an excellent prom /walkway which is also good for any disabled.

Mr Ford, 07 March 2016

the hotel had no heating and at times we were very cold

Mrs Bromley, 06 March 2016

The hotel was excellent, lots of places to sit either in the shade or in the sun. We had asked for a sea view and had beautiful view from our bedroom. The food was good, and we as vegetarian could get enough variety. The staff were very friendly, and nothing was too much for them to do. I had an upset stomach and asked for some milk, they gave me a litre and said if you need more just phone reception day or night

Mr Adams, 23 February 2016

Restaurants (buffet) poor one large and one small always full and tables not reset for other diners. Not enough staff.
