Puerto Rico is located on the south west coast of Gran Canaria; it is built in a valley, which means that if you have mobility problems this resort may be unsuitable, unless you wish to use taxis. The resort of Playa Del Ingles is approximately 25km away and the airport is around 30km away.

It is built along and up the sides of a valley, where white apartments fill the two hills. The resort has two main beaches, Puerto Rico Beach and Amadores Beach. Puerto Rico Beach is handmade and is surrounded by 2 harbours, in which you can go on trips. Including searching for dolphins, exploring other parts on the taxi boats or pedalos.

If you fancy a nice walk, right at the end of the beach there is a beach path, which connects to Amadores Beach and takes approx 20 minutes allowing a beautiful view of the coast. On arriving at Amadores Beach you will be able to take in the white, silky, Caribbean sand and join people from all over the world. The resort itself has got all the services you could possibly need: Taxis, Buses, Supermarkets, Shops, Hairdressers and Beauticians,Internet cafes, Restaurants, Bars , Clubs, Waterpark and Doctors.

Everyone, the resort is suited to all, except for those who may have mobility issues, taxis may be a necessity in this case.

Beaches
There are both man-made and sandy beaches, which are both very popular during high season, the sandy beach is the safer, where children are concerned as the harbor protects it and makes the sea smoother.

Shopping
As with the rest of the Canaries the shopping is focused on clothing, duty free and souvenirs, but if that’s exactly what you’re looking for then it will not be hard to find in Puerto Rico, the shops are mixed amongst the bars and restaurants, and for the real shopaholics a trip to the shopping centre is a must.

Nightlife
Located in the centre is a traffic free area dedicated to nightlife of all varieties, so whether you are in search of a relaxing meal and a few drinks or a loud bustling nightclub to keep you dancing until the morning you will find it here.

Restaurants/Cuisine
No matter what your budget there are restaurants to suit your taste and your wallet/ purse, everything from traditional to international cuisine is on offer so all you have to do is choose.

Activities
There are a number of activities within Puerto Rico; they range from boat trips and water sports to golf. The average temperatures oscillate in the summer months between 26 ºC and 28 ºC (79 – 82 °F), often exceeding 30 °C (86 °F), and in the winter months between 22 ºC and 24 ºC.

Money
Spain's official currency is the Euro (EUR). One Euro is divided into 100 cents. Money can be exchanged at bureaux de change and major hotels, but banks give the best rates. All major credit cards and travellers cheques are widely accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are widespread and are generally the cheapest and most convenient method of obtaining money.
