Last year, we got involved with Chatsmore Catholic High School. They took a group of students to Barcelona in July and we covered the cost of baseball caps for the pupils, so they could be easily recognised while in the busy city!
This year we are still working with both Kamelia Kids Nursery and Chatsmore Catholic High School.
During the summer term the students at Chatsmore Catholic High School discussed in groups what makes a good citizen and were invited to nominate students who deserved the title "Citizen of the Year". The five students with the greatest numbers of nominations went through to a final vote across the whole school. Such qualities as "approachable", "attentive", "understanding" and "friendly" were included in the list of around 50 potential personality traits which students believed would make a person a good citizen.
Hays Travel Goring very generously sponsored this award and came along to Chatsmore's final assembly of the year where the five finalists were presented with certificates and the winner received a £100 Amazon voucher and a trophy to keep.
