The French Riviera boasts a Mediterranean climate with hot, sunny Summers and mild, warm Winters. Temperatures average 27C in the summer and 13-15C in the winter months. There is a chance of rainfall in the winter, but very little rain in the summer. Avoid the crowds and visit the French Riviera during the spring and autumn months.
Things to see & do

Nice is a shopper's paradise, from the famous flower market on Cours Saleya to the designer boutiques on Rues Paradis and Massena and Avenue de Verdun.

Nightlife is where the French Riviera excels! From the lively and upmarket nightspots in St Tropez to the stylish clubs and bars in Nice, to the Casino in Monte Carlo and the luxurious establishments in Cannes you'll find somewhere to enjoy a quiet drink, dance the night away or party until dawn across the French Riviera.

Food & drink

There is an excellent choice of restaurants, bistros, brasseries and cafes to satisfy all tastes across the French Riviera. Try local specialities from Salade Nicoise to Soupe de Poisson, the baked cod dish stocafi, the dessert pastry fougasse and steak and frites.
