Ski Holidays in Verbier

Verbier is located in the heart of the four valleys, it is considered as one of Europe’s top resorts and the cosmopolitan village boasts some of the most challenging skiing in the Alps. There are a total of 100 hundred runs in Verbier, of which, 39 percent are suitable for beginners, 42 percent suitable for intermediate and 19 percent are best suited to the advanced skiers, there are 95 lifts in Verbier to get you where you need to be.

As Verbier is part of the four valleys it is connected to the resorts of La tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, Thyon and Collons, Verbier being the most famous it is known as a fashionable and attractive resort with a fierce mountain, it is a trendy resort which is always lively and there is plenty to do on and off the slopes, with various restaurants, bars and clubs to choose from, your evenings should be filled either fun, and during the day you need not stick to just skiing or snowboarding as there are a whole host of other activities to take part in. Verbier is a large and friendly resort and with its reliable snowfall it is a great choice.

Who goes there?
Verbier is an advanced skiers dream but with a vast 400km of pistes it does cater for everyone, including snowboarders.

Nightlife, food and drink:
There are a variety of nightclubs, bars and restaurants to choose from, restaurants serving all types of cuisine, including French, Traditional, Italian, Chinese and US, you will also find fast food restaurants if you are on the go of fancy something quick, after your meal you can choose between a few drinks in one of the many bars and restaurants and end the evening there or continue on to one of the nightclubs for a more lively end to the evening.

Skiing:
Beginners - The beginner slopes are spread across Verbier between Savoleyres and Mont Fort, but they get the benefit of the sunshine, there is also a fantastic ski school to get you started and help you progress on to more challenging slopes.

Intermediate – You will enjoy many areas in Verbier, the quiet areas of Savoleyres and Mont Fort, but most of the intermediate slopes are between Attelas and the village, you will not be disappointed by Verbier.

Advanced – Verbier is an advanced skiers haven with many challenging pistes as well as endless off piste activity, recommended with a guide, the world cup run at Veysonnaz is a steep red run for those thrill seekers and the front face of Mont Fort is famous famously a tough mogul field.

Snowboarding:
Many guides will take groups, or individuals for a day or more, to explore the great off piste activity, there aren’t many drag lifts but there are two fun parks and a half pipe, also during the spring you can watch the extreme snowboarding championships and there are various snowboarding shops if you fancy treating yourself.

Off the Slopes:
There is no shortage of activity off the slopes in Verbier, the Medan Parc offers 800m of hanging bridges, Tyrolean traverses, rope bridges and assisted climbs, you can also try tobogganing, winter hiking, snowshoeing, ice skating, paragliding, swimming and if you are looking for something homely there is also a cinema.

Transfers: Transfers from Sion Airport are approximately 50 minutes, and from Geneva Airport transfers are around 2 hours.
