RESORT INFORMATION

A dedicated group of visitors go back every year to Obergurgl or Hochgurgl, Whichever of the two resorts they are loyal to, they love its high, snow sure, easy intermediate slopes, its end-of-the-valley seclusion and civilized atmosphere, its lively tea-time après-ski and its comfortable, expensive hotels. There aren't many beds, so you need to book early to avoid disappointment. Beginners and novice skiers are invited to ski at Gaisberg lift, Mahdstuhl lift or the practicing slope featuring a beginner's lift. More advanced skiers find a truly unique sports paradise in the Festkogl ski area in Obergurgl and along the Schermerspitze ski trail - which are both of intermediate difficulty. Real experts can conquer the steep Hohe Mut ski run in Obergurgl and the challenging mogul piste down from Top-Wurmkogl II in Hochgurgl.

APRES SKI / NIGHTLIFE

It might not be as busy here as in Sölden (just 50 km away), but that doesn't mean you can't have plenty of fun here. The two villages are well-known for the "ski hut culture": Numerous huts welcome you to relax and enjoy this very traditional après ski. You certainly shouldn't miss out on visiting the "Nederhütte" – not only do they offer regional specialities, there is also a varied programme of entertainment including live music, cosy hut evenings and parties on a daily basis.
