RESORT INFORMATION

Meribel, ideally placed in the middle valley of the Trois Vallees, is a hugely popular cosmopolitan ski resort offering fantastic skiing for all levels. Its’ central location makes it ideally placed to explore the whole of the region, the largest linked ski area in the world, with over 600km of pistes. Meribel is made up of two distinct regions, Meribel Village, at 1400m, and Meribel Mottaret, higher up the valley at 1,700m. Mottaret is the smaller and quieter of the two, with a larger lift base and plenty of ski-in/ski-out accommodation. Meribel continues to be one of the most popular destinations for British skiers and retains a strong British influence. Meribel has invested heavily in its’ extensive lift system, boasting 16 high-speed gondolas, more than any other single resort in the world, just a quarter of the total amount serving the 150km of terrain in the valley. Skiers therefore move swiftly and efficiently around the slopes, and with the valley running from north to south, skiers can follow the sun all day. With 74 pistes to choose from in the Meribel valley, there is something for everyone. Beginners in Meribel Mottaret have a special bunny area just for them, one of the best ski schools in the Alps and 22 green runs in the resort. Intermediate skiers can choose from the majority of the pistes in the Meribel valley, and the resort is often referred to as an “intermediate paradise”. Experts have some fantastic off-piste areas, both in Meribel Mottaret and the surrounding Trois Vallees, as well as plenty of challenging marked trails, including the Womens’ Olympic Downhill trail. Meribel boasts some of the best off-piste boarding in the world, and Mottaret is home to the Plattieres Snow park, one of two found in Meribel
