Les Arcs, France is linked via Plan Peisey to form Paradiski one of the biggest ski and snowboarding areas in the world. The Vanoise Express links Plan Peisey, Les Arcs to La Plagne just above Montchavin-les Coches is due to open on 20 December. Les Arcs and in particular the village of Plan Peisey makes a great destination for a family ski holiday or for a mixed ability group skiing holiday. Skiing in Les Arcs opens on 12 December 2009 although the Vanoise Express a week later, the ski lifts will close late in April 2010.

Plan Peisey (1650m) – ski apartments and probably the best selection of catered ski chalets in les Arcs. Childcare and crèche. Les Arcs end of Vanoise Express lift that links to la Plagne.
Peisey Nancroix (1350m) - traditional village, ski apartments and catered ski chalets. Lift to Plan Peisey for Vanoise Express, ski school and skiing in Les Arcs.
Vallandry (1600m) – mainly apartments, a few catered ski chalets,
Les Arcs 1600 - direct funicular link with Bourg St Maurice railway station, mainly apartments,
Les Arcs 1800 - self-catering ski apartments and hotel
Les Arcs 1950 - new Intrawest village: ski apartments and hotel
Les Arcs 2000 - apartments and catered ski chalets
To take full advantage of the Paradiski ski area, the best place to stay in les Arcs is Plan Peisey: the departure point of the Vanoise Express cable car that connects les Arcs and la Plagne. The Vanoise Express is a massive double-decker cable car carrying up to 200 skiers between les Arcs and la Plagne in just 4 minutes.

Les Arcs is well known as a child and family friendly resort and you will find a wealth of things to do that will keep everyone happy. In Plan Peisey you can find Le Pré Jeannot fun zone for children. Either after skiing or during the day, they can ride on a rubber ring (cost is €3 to hire for the day), on skis or on snowboards.
Arc 1800 has the best nightlife in Les Arcs so if you want to be out on the town every night, this may be the place for you. Charvet has a fair selection of bars. The Gabotte is popular with the locals for a cheeky après beer and L’Equipe is a big funky bar, with a pirate theme (also an internet café). The largest selection of bars is to be found in Villards. Ambiente is a cool après bar with darts, sports on TV and extortionate 211 cocktails and Benji Bar gets full points for the longest happy hour.
