Ski Holidays in Keystone

Keystone has three different mountains to choose from and a range of terrain for all abilities, all three mountains are accessible from the keystone village and the ski area is serviced by high-speed lifts, the resort is well known for its groomed wide trails and designated slow skiing areas, but the north peak boasts steep mogul covered runs.

There are plenty of off slope activities to satisfy the non-skiers and the après ski offers something to entertain all tastes and ages. Snowboarders will not be out of places to explore in Keystone, there are enough slopes in Keystone to suit all levels of ability and if that’s not enough then the snow park should satisfy you.

Who goes there?
The designated slow skiing areas in Keystone make it a beginners paradise, it is also a good choice for families, but if you are looking for more of a challenge you will not be disappointed as there are runs to suit all, 42 of the keystone runs are suitable for intermediate and 59 are better suited to advanced skiers, the snowboarders will find everything required for all abilities and the snow park should keep you happy as it covers and area of around 1,861km.

Accommodation
The range of accommodation in Keystone covers everything whether you are looking for a family chalet or a room for two in a luxurious hotel you will find somewhere to suit your budget and tastes.

Restaurants and Nightlife
You will find numerous bars and restaurants serving great food and often there will be entertainment, the Great Northern Tavern brews its own beer and the Kickapoo Tavern is a good choice for those with older children.

Skiing:
Beginners – For a great choice of gentle green runs beginners should hit the front face of Keystone Mountain, the Schoolmarm which is a long, lazy run, done at you own pace. The Outpost Gondola then opens up the green runs of North Peak without even having to venture on a blue run.

Intermediates – There is quite a large choice for the intermediate skiers with long blue cruises, such as Mozart and a number of gladed runs, such as Wolverine and Pika. There are also a variety of runs through the trees, which are fun but not too steep.

Advanced –For steep and deep runs or challenging moguls the place to go, in Keystone, is the North peak, advanced skiers should also try the outback particularly the north and south bowls, the Wombat chutes are a favourite with advanced skiers and the incentive is the powder snow.

Snowboarding:
In the past few years the A51 terrain park has trebled in size, it incorporates features for all abilities of boarder and is under lights, there is also a half pipe and a super pipe here, Free riders will be able to perfect their turns across the 1,861 acres of terrain or on the open runs outback.
