Located in the Aosta Valley, Courmayeur is set at 1225 metres and offers 62 miles of pistes. This resort is particularly popular with beginners and intermediates. Set at 2035 metres, Sestriere's high altitude is popular with advanced and intermediate skiers and also offers excellent off-piste.

At 1310 metres, the large town of Bardonecchia is particularly popular for its après ski and vibrant nightlife. Sauze d'Oulx, set at 1510 metres, has nearly 250 miles of runs and a similar reputation for energetic nightlife. The exclusive ski resort of Cortina sits at an altitude of 1224 metres and is the Italian answer to the chic French resort of Courchevel. Cortina is a little more expensive than neighbouring resorts and boasts stylish accommodation, fine food and excellent pistes for beginners and intermediates.
