Hochgurgl is an impressive and upmarket, slightly isolated village. It is the highest ski holiday resort in Austria and one of the highest on the Alps, sitting at 2150m high! Due to the location of the resort, the result is superb snow reliability, possibly the best in Austria. Hochgurgl is one of the few in Austria that has entirely ski in/ ski out accommodation.

Hochgurgl is a very attractive resort, with low rise buildings and mostly high end accommodation, making it a popular resort in Austria. Hochgurgl has fantastic access to Wurmkogel ski area as well as a direct link into the Festkogel ski area via the valley spanning Top Express Gurgl lift.

Accommodation
All accommodation is of a ski in/ ski out nature, which tends to be high-end and is often well equipped, offering a very comfortable ski holiday resort stay.

Skiing and Snowboarding
Hochgurgl has superb access to the slopes due to the entire resort being ski in/ ski out accommodation. Hochgurgl shares the same ski area as Obergurgl, however the areas are separated by a deep valley but are joined by the Top Express Gurgl lift. The skiing and snowboarding greatly favours the intermediates, however there is beginner terrain just above Obergurgl. There is also off-piste skiing for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Restaurants and Bars
Located next to the hub of lifts in Hochgurgl, there is enjoyable if restrained nightlife. The après ski action is rather short lived and gets quiet very early and those staying in Hochgurgl often head back to their accommodation for their evening meals, however there are some restaurants within the resort.

Transfers
Innsbruck is the best airport for accessibility to Hochgurgl and transfers will take approximately 1 hour to 2 hours, depending on the weather and road conditions.
