Ski Holidays in Courchevel

At its highest level, Courchevel is the most chic and the most expensive resort in France, and it also happens to have outstanding skiing. But that is just the top bit. Courchevel is made up of 4 villages at different altitudes and has something to suit everybody.

RESORT INFORMATION

The number of lifts and the sheer scale of the skiing in Courchevel are simply staggering. Mere statistics mean nothing, you have to see it for yourself. It is worth noting that Courchevel is the most easterly of the region, a major fact to bear in mind when searching for sunshine or north facing slopes. A network of gondolas and cable cars will take you up to 2378m Saulire. You can either ski down the far side to Meribel and further into the trios vallees, or return towards Courchevel. For advanced skiers and riders, the black Les Suisses is excellent. In the right snow conditions it is possible to ski from Saulire all the way down to Bozel, below Courchevel – a vertical drop of over 2000m. Snowboarders will find a good supply of natural hits throughout Courchevel. The terrain park and Plantrey has a half pipe. Courchevel also has a number of British Ski Instructors.

APRES SKI / NIGHTLIFE

At Prends Ta Lugeet Tire-toi in Courchevel 1850 you can check your emails, have a drink or buy a snowboard. Le Pyggys Pub is extremely popular, and the “Purple” is a new fashion bar with DJ. Les Caves is the place to see and be seen open into the early hours. There is also a British bar named Le Bubble which is typically open late. The more family oriented Le Praz falls asleep early for those tired out by the slopes!
