

Bardonecchia is a traditional Italian town, set in a valley on the French boarder; it is home to amazing views and pine woods. In 2006 it played host to some of the Turin Winter Olympics, the town itself is a mixture as it is a traditional market town with a variety of both traditional and modern buildings. Bardonecchia is known to have a great character with a lively atmosphere, during high season, and a good time can be had by all, in the variety of bars and restaurants, but don’t let the words lively put you off as it is also known as a friendly resort. If you are looking for something off the slopes then there is certainly enough to entertain you.
There are three main areas, which are linked to make up Bardonecchia, this makes up a skiing area of around 140km, there are a total of 24 runs of which there are 17 beginner, 24 intermediate and 1 advanced, also there are 23 lifts covering the resort so it is not hard to get around.
Who goes there?
Bardonecchia is suitable for all levels of ability and welcomes both skiers and snowboarders.
Nightlife, Food & Drink:
There are enough bars and restaurants to choose from in Bardonecchia, so whether you want to let your hair down or just relax, you will find somewhere suitable to do it in the resort. The main cuisines served in the resort are French and Italian, but if you are a fast food lover then you will not be disappointed either.
Skiing:
Beginners - You will find nursery slopes in Melezet and Campo Smith and once you have conquered these then the blue runs in Colomion and Melezet should help you progress.
Intermediates - You will feel at home here on the various red runs and there should definitely be a permanent smile across your face with 24 runs to chose from.
Advanced - There are 6 black slopes in Bardonecchia for advanced skiers, there is also plenty of off piste skiing with guides.
Snowboarding:
This is not a no-go resort for beginners, all levels of ability are welcomed, but there are mostly red and blue slopes, which make it no surprise that it was chosen to host some of the boarding events for the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
Off the slopes:
There are a number of other activities apart from skiing in Bardonecchia there is a fitness centre, bowling alley, cinema, swimming pools, shops, ice skating and walking trails.
Airport transfers are around 1 hour 30 minutes from Turin Airport.
