RESORT INFORMATION

Intermediates and above will appreciate the vast range of Avoriaz which has nearly 250kms of reds and blues to choose from. The resort is more snow-sure than Morzine due to its elevation of 1800m and snow lasts at village level for much of the season. You may, however, experience some bottlenecks during peak season; although the uplift is good and fast and there will be less traffic once you leave the lower runs to resort. Avoriaz offers some tougher terrain with runs on the Hauts Forts and down to Les Prodains including the World Cup downhill course.

FAMILIES

The ski school, certified by Ministry of Youth and Sport, with over 100 instructors and supervisors, welcomes youngsters from the age of 3 up to 16 and allows them to discover all the activities and pleasures linked to the snow in this exceptional site. Annie Famose and her team have defined an original teaching programme based on role play and fun in a reassuring and familar site, surrounded by cartoon heroes.

APRES SKI / NIGHTLIFE

Along with the restaurants there are ten bars which include a pub and a piano bar; there's also a live music bar and a night club. The Place and Wild Horse Saloon are good for live music, and for nightclubbing Le Yak. La Cabane and the Globetrotters Bar are also popular. The Studio 9 Bowling Alley remains open until 2am - it has two bowling alleys, pool and video games plus a bar.
