Ski Holidays in Aspen

Aspen is made up of four ski areas Buttermilk, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Snowmass, This makes Aspen a huge ski area suitable for every level of ability and snowboarders will find themselves entertained. Aspen has been an established ski resort for around 60 years and has earned its glamorous reputation through its rich history and charming Victorian architecture, it offers some of the best skiing in the world. Buttermilk and Aspen highlands are best for beginners but all areas offer something for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers.

Skiing and snowboarding is not all that Aspen has to offer there are a number of other activities such as guided ski tours and sleigh rides, there are a variety of shops in Aspen as well as many bars and restaurants There is a shuttle bus service running through Aspen so no matter which area takes your fancy it wont be hard to get there, this service runs until 2am so if you are visiting for the party atmosphere transport shouldn’t be a problem.

Who goes there?
Apart from the rich and famous, everyone is welcome whether it’s the sightseeing, snowboarding or the skiing you are visiting Aspen for you will be happy. There are 41 beginner runs, 120 intermediate and 109 advanced runs; this is a total of 270, so whether you’re an ambitious beginner, a confident intermediate or love the challenge of advanced skiing you will not run out of slopes to suit you.

Skiing:
Beginner – Buttermilk is the smallest of the ski areas in Aspen, it is a novice skiers delight with quieter slopes, mostly green and blue runs, accessed via the exhibition chair the highlands is another popular area for beginners with many gentle green slopes. Intermediates – If you are an early intermediate then the Highlands and Buttermilk are perfect for you with quieter cruising runs, on the other hand if you are looking for a challenge then the runs at Aspen Mountain may suit you better. Advanced – Throughout Aspen Mountain, Highlands and Snowmass there are a vast amount of challenging runs. Some of the steepest terrain in Colorado is found in the highland bowl above Loge peak.

There are a wide range of bars and clubs to visit in the resort and all of, which are pretty close together, so you will not have to look far for a good evening.
