Sharm el Sheikh is the perfect holiday destination for those sun-loving, fun-seekers out there. With its striking blue waters, Sharm el Sheikh is very popular with divers and snorkelers. But if the sea isn’t your thing, there’s always the fantastic nightlife, dining and shopping. And then there’s the landscape. The rocky mountains of the Sinai Peninsula are parted from the deep-blue sea by a flat desert strip. This combination of desert and sea is a truly incredible sight.

Places of Interest

Holidays to Sharm el Sheikh are not complete without a visit to Ras Mohamed National Park, with its amazing coral reef, calm waters and excellent beaches. The coloured canyon is about 200km from Sharm and a tour will last all day.

Activities

Watersports and snorkelling are extremely popular in Sharm el Sheikh due to its fantastic clear waters. For those looking for on land adventure quad biking in the desert is an unforgettable experience. You can also go desert trekking on camel, or if you prefer a quieter day out, there’s always the Sinai Heritage and Diving Museum in Naama Bay.

From Egyptian cuisine to McDonalds, Sharm el Sheikh has it all! There are plenty of local restaurants where you can enjoy traditional fare, but also an abundance of international restaurants to suit every taste.

Nightlife

Sharm el Sheikh has an endless choice of bars and clubs, catering for all needs. For the partygoers Naama Bay is a must, with nightclub, Pacha, being the most popular.

Shopping

For an authentic Egyptian shopping experience, Sharm Old Market is not to be missed. Vibrant colours, spices, perfume bottles and slippers are all available. Naama Bay also has several western style shopping complexes.

Currency

The Egyptian pound is the local currency, however, Sterling is widely accepted throughout the resort.

The main language of Sharm el Sheikh is Arabic, however, English is widely spoken.
