Puerto Plata is the third largest city on the island. It is located on the northern coast of the Caribbean island of Hispanola. Puerto Plata is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic. In Puerto Plata the sun shines for the majority of the day, which is why the resort is also known as “endless summer resort” due to the warm and sunny conditions experienced pretty much everywhere in the Puerto Plata all year round. The summer season starts in Puerto Plata from the months of May to October and experiences 12-13 sunshine hours per day. For sun worshipers holidays in Puerto Plata make an attractive destination.
