Funchal has been the capital of Madeira for hundreds of years, it is a postcard picture scene with whitewash houses, with red tiled rooftops, nestled in the green hills among blossoming flowers, and this stunning view rises up from the harbour. Among the cobbled streets are filled with historic buildings and monuments, alongside a number of pavement cafes, allowing you to side outside and take it all in.

There is a beautiful promenade lined with palm trees, flowers and plants, it runs around the bay and joins the Praia Formosa beach in the west, and to make up for the lack of beach is this resort there are three sea water pools for the public, along the promenade, this is also the setting for the restaurants, bars and cafes in the area. There are a wide range of leisure activities and sights to see and combine that with the sunshine and great atmosphere, you will get a fantastic atmosphere.
