Of the 125 miles of magnificent beaches on the island, a few favourites include: the horseshoe-shaped bay of Costa Caleta with its palm-lined promenade; the 20-mile white-sand beach of Jandia backed by vast mountains; and the tranquil expanse of Costa Calma. Most of the beaches are lined with cafes, bars, restaurants and a good selection of shops.

Holidays in Fuerteventura include popular excursions, such as trips to: the Betancuria Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography; the Tefia Craft Village; the traditional fishing village of Morro Jable; the spectacular Jandia National Park; and Corralejo's fun-filled water parks. Families and couples tend to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of Costa Caleta and Jandia, with evenings spent tucking in to locally caught seafood dishes and strolling along the beach. Those seeking livelier evenings can head to Corralejo to enjoy its sports bars, discos and clubs.
