El Gouna is situated approximately 35 kilometres north of Hurghada on the Red Sea coast in Egypt. The resort itself is built on a small island, joined by bridges over blue lagoons and covers 10 kilometres of coastline. El Gouna does not have any history as it is a purpose built resort; however it is, nevertheless, a charming place with fantastic architecture.
