The resort of Altinkum lies on the Aegean coast with a beautiful stretch of sandy beach that shelves down into the crystal clear waters, holidays in Altinkum offer everything a holiday maker could need, with fantastic sunshine and beaches, some of which are blue flag and are patrolled by lifeguards, so it’s a haven for families, numerous activities and attractions to while away the hours, it’s a perfect destination for a holiday.

If you are interested in a taste of history then there are a number of archaeological sites to visit and if you have children or a passion for water parks then the Aqua fantasy park is a must. There is a wide selection of accommodation to choose from and a huge amount of bars, restaurants and cafes to cater to you every need, the town is a charming area to visit especially on a market day when visitors from many of the other resorts flock to see the sights and do a little bargaining.

Who goes there?
Altinkum is particularly popular with families, as the beaches are safe and the activity range suits a family fun holiday, if you have an interest in water sports then you will be surprised at the variety on offer, from diving to snorkelling and even water skiing, also if it’s the ancient history you have a love for then there is plenty of that here. The nightlife attracts a younger crowd also.

Shopping:
There are shopping centres and markets in Altinkum, the shopping centres are filled with items aimed at the tourists, clothing, cameras, leather goods and jewellery, the markets are on Wednesdays and Saturdays where you will get a few bargains providing you are willing to barter.

Nightlife:
There is a vast selection of bars and restaurants to cater for all tastes, there are two main squares for the nightlife and they become quite busy during the high season, if you want something a little less hectic then simply look for a bar or restaurant away from the squares and you will find a quieter atmosphere.

Restaurants & Cuisine:
Turkish food consists of many fantastic tasty dishes and wonderful ingredients, such as kebabs, rice dishes, feta cheese, olives, clay pot casseroles, stuffed peppers and vine leaves, but if you prefer a taste of home then never worry there are a range of restaurants serving everything from fast food to a variety of international cuisines.
