This is a great resort for families and couples it offers both relaxation and fun, also if you are interested in sightseeing there is a popular excursion to Spinalongo, a small island off the coast that housed a leper colony until the nineteen fifties.

It has been said that Agios Nikolaos is home to some of the best jewellery in Crete, so if you’re looking for some pretty handcrafted jewellery, you won’t be disappointed, there are a wide selection of shops here including a few fashionable boutiques, souvenir shops and shops for the basic essentials, there is also a weekly market, where you can pick up a few bargains.
Nightlife:
Whether you are in search of a romantic meal overlooking the sea or a lively night, you will be able to find it somewhere; the harbour is home to the livelier nightlife, with everything from traditional tavernas to bars open until early hours. The waterfront is the best area for a little peace, the nightlife doesn’t usually get lively until around eleven and most people dine at around nine but the choice is yours.
