Located on the Dalyan River near Turkey’s south-west coast, with pine clad forests, mountains and green hills as its backdrop, you’ll discover the quiet resort of Dalyan. The 5km stretch of sand at Iztuzu Beach is the perfect place to spend the day and where you might catch sight of the resident loggerhead turtles. Or indulge in a hamam Turkish bath, thermal springs or a mud bath. When it comes to shopping, explore the quaint boutiques dotted around the resort and, of course, don’t miss the Saturday market! For culture fans, take a short boat-ride across the river to the old city of Caunos, where you’ll find the Acropolis, the Lycian Rock Tombs, amphitheatre and city walls. In the evening, enjoy a selected of meze followed by freshly-caught fish and seafood or join in the dancing to traditional Turkish music. Whether you’re looking for a romantic break for two, a family sunshine break or a few days away with friends, it’s easy to see why a holiday in Dalyan is a popular choice.
