Stunning architecture, flower-covered squares, fortresses, elegant restaurants and lively nightlife are just some of the things you’ll discover on a holiday in Corfu Town. The Old Town, with its streets lined with carpet shops and jewellers, is also home to the impressive St Spyridon Church; the tree-lined Esplanade with its park and cricket ground and also the cafe-lined Liston terrace. Two fortresses and the Archaeological and Byzantine Museums are also worth a visit in the Old Town. The New Town is packed with luxury jewellers, designer boutiques and pavement cafes. The small and sandy Mon Repos beach is a welcome spot for an afternoon’s chilling-out in the sunshine. When the sun sets, Corfu Town’s restaurants and bars comes to life, with freshly-caught seafood and ouzo a great place to start, then head to the north of the town to dance til dawn in the nightclubs and music venues.

Corfu Town's weather is one of its biggest attractions. Spring and autumn are great times to visit, when the weather is not too hot. June, July and August are the hottest and driest months, with daytime high temperatures often exceeding the late twenties and evenings warm and balmy. But it can rain if you visit during the winter months.
Things to see & do

Holidays in Corfu Town are packed with things to see and do. Spend your days relaxing on the beach. Culture fans will enjoy exploring the old and new fortresses, the Church of St Spyridon, the Town Hall Square, the Square of the Saints, the Ionian Academy and the St Michael and St George Palaces. Enjoy Corfus past in the Archaeological, Asian Art and Byzantine Museums. For a splashing time head to Aqualand in nearby Agios Ioannis. Take a boat trip and explore Crete from the sea. Shopping in the Old and New Towns is a favourite pastime.

Food & drink

There are plenty of options to tempt your palate in the tavernas and restaurants of Corfu Town. Freshly caught fish and seafood are plentiful. Local delicacies to sample include sofrito, kreatopita, dolmadakia and saganaki. Leave room for sticky baklava to finish your meal, washed down with a glass of ouzo or two.
