Corfu's weather is one of its biggest attractions. It enjoys mild, wet winters, which result in verdant countryside. The spring and autumn are great times to visit, when the weather is not too hot. June, July and August are the hottest and driest months, with daytime high temperatures often exceeding the late twenties and evenings warm and balmy. With long, sunny days, warm seas for bathing and barely any rain, it's no wonder Corfu is such a popular spot for summer holidays.
Things to see & do

Holidays in Corfu revolve around the beaches, with an array of water sports and boat trips to choose from. Aqualand and Hydropolis water parks are favourite family days out, as are trips to spot the island wildlife, including its famous tortoises. Corfu has a championship golf course and many other sports can be enjoyed on the island. Explore Corfu's scenic interior on foot, horseback or bicycle. All resorts have souvenir shops and Corfu Town boasts a Saturday morning market selling local crafts. Don't miss trips to the spectacular palaces of Mon Repos and Achilleon.

Nightlife on Corfu varies greatly, depending on the resort you choose to stay in. The party capital of the island is Kavos, which attracts crowds of revellers with its late night bars and clubs. Corfu Town is also lively after dark, with a strip of discos and buzzing bars. Quieter evenings with traditional Greek music can be found in Paleokastrita, Gylfada and Agios Ioannis. Sidari is packed with karaoke bars and late night venues, but still attracts families and couples. Kassiopi Harbour makes a great spot for a chilled out night, as does Kamari with its beach front bars. More remote all inclusive hotels usually offer inhouse entertainment.

Food & drink

With all its charming fishing harbours, it's hardly surprising that seafood is a speciality on Corfu. For authentic Greek cuisine, you'll find plenty of quaint tavernas serving up local favourites throughout the island. Larger resorts like Kavos and Sidari are home to a diverse choice of international restaurants, fast food joints and British pubs. For valueformoney, book an all inclusive hotel, where food and drink are included in the cost of your Corfu holiday.
