As you'd expect from a Caribbean island, the weather in the Dominican Republic is good almost all year round. Daytime temperatures rarely dip below the early twenties and often peak at well over 30ºC. The rainy season is from May to October, but this doesn't stop thousands of holidaymakers flocking to the tropics during the summer months. In winter, the weather in the Dominican Republic is hot and dry, making it a perfect spot to head for a heavy dose of winter sun.
Things to see & do

Holidays in Cabarete are all about sunworshipping and enjoying the many watersports on offer on the beach. But why not get out and explore the countryside on horseback or mountain bike. The El Choco National Park, with its freshwater springs, tropical landscapes and birdlife and the natural 27 Waterfalls of Rio Damajagua are a sights not to be missed. Go snorkelling or scubadiving in the turquoise waters of Sousa Bay.

Cabarete has a 'party town' reputation and itd be a shame not to join in! Once dinners out of the way, most restaurants turn into bars playing a variety of music a chance for everyone get together to dance, drink and have fun. Try out the local dance styles of Merengue, Bachata and Salsa too. For a great night out head to the The Cabaret Beach House with its BBQ's, campfire parties on the beach, and great food, drinks and music.

Food & drink

Local food in the Dominican Republic is a tasty mix of Caribbean, African and Spanish flavours. Everything from casual and cheap, to gourmetprepared fresh seafood is offered by Cabaretes restaurants. Locally grown papaya, mango and passion fruit make for a refreshing dessert. Don't miss a taste of the islands dark rum and Presidente beer.
